About Cryo-Genie
Three decades of a single commitment.
A small group of researchers and doctors set out to make specialised reproductive care available at a reasonable cost. That remains our purpose today.
Founded in New Delhi, 1993
Cryo-Genie India Pvt. Ltd. was set up in 1993 in New Delhi by a small group of researchers and medical doctors to provide physicians and their patients with safe and specialised services in sperm processing and semen preservation.
Reproductive medicine has not stood still since then, and neither have we. We have continued to bring new techniques to physicians and their patients without placing them beyond reach — the same balance we struck in our first year.
Led by Dr. Bhashini Rao
For over a decade, our team was headed by Dr. Bhashini Rao, a biophysicist with extensive international experience. She passed away in October 2006, but the standard she set — quality and service, without compromise — continues to govern how we work.
Under new leadership
Mr Amit Rao has stepped down as Chairman. Mr Sanjay Seth has been appointed Managing Director and continues to lead the company with the same priorities: safety, rigorous quality control and affordability for the physicians and patients who depend on us.
What "quality" means here
We follow the American Society for Reproductive Medicine's recommendations as our baseline, not our ceiling:
- All donors are screened for HIV I and II, hepatitis, syphilis, gonorrhoea, genital warts and chlamydia, and are re-tested at three-month intervals.
- Every sample is held in quarantine for six months, and the donor is re-tested before release.
- Every vial contains at least 20 million motile sperm after thawing, with a vial from each batch tested for quality control before dispatch.
- The identities of donor and recipient remain confidential; records are retained solely for essential clinical information.
Who we work with
Physicians, IVF clinics and hospitals across India, together with individuals preserving their own fertility ahead of treatment or high-risk occupations. Semen samples are supplied only to patients under a physician's care.
